In GMPack we serialized Pharmaceuticals in accordance to the Falsified Medicines Directive (FDM).

Each serialized product is equipped with a unique random serial number alongside the batch number, expiration date and other information necessary for a given pharmaceutical. Furthermore, GMPack seals the products with tamper stickers in both the top and bottom of each carton, which prevents tampering between the packaging site and the patient.

Each products is checked on several parameters by the serialization machine. The size of each product, the printed information, the presence of tamper stickers and the expected speed through the serializaion machine are all tested on each product and failure in one step will reject the product.

GMPack uses Tracelink as a portal for the information stream of serial numbers both when requesting the serial numbers and when commisioning an order and therefore sending information about which serial numbers the batch entail.

The serialization of products in GMPack may be followed be aggregation on our aggregation machine.
